The Blue Ridge Institute Development Fund
The Development Fund was authorized by the Executive Committee in July 1982 for the purpose of receiving bequests, gifts, or special allocations from the operating fund of the Institute. It was anticipated that the Development Fund would be able to finance special programs and projects in future years that would benefit those who participate in the annual summer programs of the Institute. The first bequest to the Fund was from the late Mrs. Florence Adams who served as the Institute's third president during 1941 and 1942. Many memorial gifts have been made in honor of past Institute presidents and others.
